We cut the legs off of our pants
Throw our shoes into the ocean
Sit back and wave through the daylight
Sit back and wave through the daylight

Slip and slide on subway grates
These shoes are poor mans ice skates
Fall through like change in the daylight
Fall through like change in the daylight

I miss yellow lines in my roads
Some color on monochrome
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself

These sidewalks liquid then stone
Building walls and an old pay phone
It rings like all through the daylight
It rings like all through the daylight

And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
'Cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

I have five clocks in my life
And only one has the time right
I'll just unplug it for today
I'll just unplug it for today

Open hydrant rolled down windows
This car might make a good old boat
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight

And with just half of a sunburn
New yellow lines that I earned
Step back and here comes the night time
Step back and here comes the night time

And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
'Cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

And when the daylight we could hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
'Cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

THIS is what pop should be like. No trying to give off a different image, no looking like they want to be from the future, and no damn autotune. Just a fun, pointless, and relaxing/uplifting song.

    My Opinion

And in the daylight we can hitchhike to MaineI hope that someday I’ll see without these framesAnd in the daylight I don't pick up my phoneCause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

I have five clocks in my lifeAnd only one has the time rightI’ll just unplug it for todayI’ll just unplug it for today

the spontaneuous, chance taking, who-gives-a-f*ck tone delivered in those lines literally makes me giddy with happiness.

i was lower than low today, until i listened to that song.it made everything better for 2 minutes or so.:)

    My Interpretation

What I feel from this song is a happy vibe.

I think it's about creating your own happiness. If life gives you sadness, become happy with what you have and what you can make.

Slip and slide on subway gratesThese shoes are poor mans ice skatesFall through like change in the daylightFall through like change in the daylight

Life can be happy if you chose for it to be. We just need to learn how to create it and take it in.

wow, sorry. i sound like a cheese ball.

    My Opinion

I actually think the lyrics saying "hoping to see the world without frames" doesn't mean through glasses or needed assisstance to accurately see the world around him. i think when the song says that he hopes that one day he'll see without these frames, i think he means that he hopes oneday he'll be able to experience the world around him without the bias of serious and debasing and purely "progressive" nature of society, mankind and being human. which begins molding our brain from the moment we take responsibilities and lose the innocence of childhood and . to see beauty in the world without the "frames" of whatever he feels FREEs him shortly, allowing him to shortly take in the beauty of the world, once being gone, the world is left feeling pale and silent, lonely again.

    It's about drugs...

No, just kidding. I was getting tired of reading comments on other songs that claim every effing song is about drugs.Anyway, I think everyone else hit the nail right on the head. :) It's pretty simple, but that's not such a bad thing, is it?Wonderful beat, wonderful message. Makes me want to go have fun, skip down the street, roll down a hill, dance in the sprinklers; that kind of thing. :)

This song is about happiness. It shows that if you find the woman you truly are meant to be with, and you are in love with her, you can do anything in the world and still have fun together.

    Happiness is love, and freedom.

Yeah I figured that it was about just living the life without money and not caring.

"I hope that someday I'll see without these frames"

I did feel that he could be talking about picture frames. Like if someone looked at a picture of the Eiffel Tower and thought "I hope that someday I'll see it myself, without the frame."

Siberian Kiss Glassjaw its amazing how far music can come.. 24 years after it released and its one of the most heartfelt songs ive heard Battle Royale Word Alive, The This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together. Step Ministry Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; Fast Car Tracy Chapman "Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
